Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Rehabilitation

Alzheimer's And Parkinson's Rehabilitation

Alzheimer's, also known as dementia, is a neurological disorder that kills brain cells over time, leading to forgetting. It starts with minor forgetfulness at first. Afterwards, it continues with forgetfulness that affects family members, their experiences, and even the use of the sink. It is a serious disease that becomes difficult to care for over time with the process.

Parkinson's disease is a disorder of the brain. Parkinson's disease is caused by the loss of cells in the part of the brain that produces dopamine, due to the low secretion of dopamine. Parkinson's disease causes problems such as tremors, slowed movements, difficulty in standing, and pain. Like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease also shows symptoms slowly. Both are common diseases. There are many Alzheimer's and Parkinson's rehabilitation centers related to these diseases.

  •     memory loss
  •     difficulty learning
  •     speech disorder
  •     attention problem

Symptoms such as these greatly affect the lives of patients.

Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Rehabilitation Applications

Many methods are used in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's rehabilitation centers. In the first period, the movements are started with five, then ten repetitions, at least three or five days a week. The primary goal is to strengthen the muscles. Begin with five repetitions, keeping shoulders straight and throwing back. While doing this exercise, care should be taken to do it backwards. For these two ailments, exercise to the front, that is, inward, is not recommended. Then, the elbow and shoulder parts are thrown backwards, counting to three is left.

With the help of a rolling pin or a stick, the hands can be raised from head level to above and lowered again. Since hunching is common in these patients, the aim is to prevent it. An exercise tire can also be used to prevent hunching. Exercise tires have yellow, red, green, blue colors. The tightness of these tires differs according to their resistance. The rubber is put under the feet, stretched with your hand up to your head. Then, the tire is tied to a fixed place and stretched by pulling on the hub. Since these movements can be applied in the first stage of the disease, they are recommended at home. Afterwards, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's rehabilitation are better equipped and they guide the patients.
